Menopause is the medical term for the end of a women’s menstrual periods. It is a perfectly natural occurrence when the ovaries stops producing the hormones named estrogens. This cause estrogen levels to drop , leading to the end of menstruation .It happens between the age of 45-60 ,but in some cases it may happen earlier. It can also happen when the Ovaries are surgically removed or it may stop functioning for any other reason.
Recognizing the arrival of Menopause :
Menopause may commence with the changes in the pattern of your periods. Some indication that your body is preparing for Menopause are :
- You may miss your periods.
- You may get periods more often.
- Bleeding between periods .
- You may get bleeding much less than usual .
Lower estrogen levels in the onset of Menopause result in some uncomfortable symptoms for many women. Such as :
Hot Flashes :
Sudden intense waves of heat and sweating that some women find disrupt their sleep.
Mood Swings:
Unexpected emotional changes that cause one to be depressed , exhausted or cranky ,for no apparent reason .If you continue to feel like this then you must consult your doctor .
Dry Vagina :
Some women experience discomfort ,itching or pain during sexual intercourse .
Urinary Track Infection :
Changes in the urinary tract and vagina causes leakage of urine or inability to control urine flow.
